  <abstract>Entre los numerosos métodos que se aplican hoy al estudio del Nuevo testamento, el método sociológico se lleva, tal vez, la palma. El uso de las ciencias sociales en el estudio del Nuevo Testamento ha alcanzado ya la mayoría de edad, dando al traste con una manera predominantemente teológica de entender los textos, fijando su atención más en colectivos y grupos humanos que en individuos concretos y estudiando la existencia y condiciones de vida del pueblo común más que la de sus personajes o minorías influyentes.</abstract>
